Srinagar: Body of another militant was recovered from the gunfight site in Ittoo Mohalla Pandushan area of South Kashmir’s Shopian on Saturday.
The second killed militant has been identified as Manzoor Bhat, an affiliate of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit, a police source said.
Earlier Zeenat-ul-Islam Naikoo was killed in the gunfight and was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
Reports claim that a Bihar resident, labourer by profession, too was killed in the exchange of bullets but officials are yet to confirm his death.
An Army man was also killed in the gunbattle yesterday.
Naikoo’s funeral drew thousands of people who chanted pro freedom, anti India slogans before burying him in his native village in Memander village.
Police sources said that the operation is still in progress.
