Abu Dhabi: Egyptian national Eman Ahmed, known as the worlds heaviest woman, passed away on Monday morning at 4.35 am in Abu Dhabi’s Burjeel hospital due to complications from the underlying co-morbid conditions.
Eman was undergoing treatment for weight loss and was showing improvement in emotional and psychological growth parameters, an official spokesperson.
She was shifted to Burjeel hospital, Abu Dhabi, for treatment after a dispute erupted between her sister and Mumbai based Saifee hospital over the treatment she was undergoing.
Eman suffered from kidney dysfunction and heart disease that worsened her condition in the last few days. “She had been under supervision of 20 doctors from different specialties,” a hospital official was quoted in media reports.
Eman was 36 and was considered as world’s heaviest woman until January this year.
