DC Udhampur attached after his pictures with two women go viral

Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur was attached with the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu on Friday, a day after his pictures have gone viral on social media in which he is seen on bed with two young women in objectionable manner.

According to the government order no: 1015-GAD of 2017 dated 04/08/2017, a copy of which is with news agency GNS said that pending inquiry into his conduct, Mr. Niraj Kumar, IAS (JK 2010) DC Udhampur is here by attached with the office of Div Com Jammu.

Second Sharma, KAS, Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, shall look after the work if the DC Udhampur till further orders, reads the order.

In the pictures, the officer, Niraj Kumar, is seen having objectionable relationship with the young women on the bed.

According to GNS, the netizens reacted sharply to the pictures by disapproving the action by “public authority.”

“Shame for a deputy Commissioner to indulge in such activity,” said Tanveer Ahmad, a netizen.

“The pictures are shocking and such behaviour by a public officer is unacceptable,” said Gowher, another netizen.

While government response was yet to come, a netizen reacted by saying: “maximum punishment will be that he will be transferred.”

Soon after the pictures went viral, the deputy commissioner has switched off his phone and could not be immediately contacted for his comments. (GNS)
