The rally commenced from the Jammu Press Club and passed through prominent locations including Dogra Chowk, crossing the Tawi Bridge to reach Vikram Chowk. From there, participants took a U-turn and returned via the second bridge, concluding the rally near the Maharaja Hari Singh Statue. At the concluding point, media professionals interacted with fellow colleagues, recorded bytes, and conducted photo sessions for press documentation.

This initiative was organized in support of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, who has launched a 100-day Nasha Mukht Abhyaan against drug abuse. The journalist fraternity extended its full support to this Abhyaan and emphasized the urgent need to combat the growing menace of drugs.

Speaking on the occasion, media persons collectively appealed to the people of Jammu & Kashmir to unite against drug abuse. They highlighted that drugs are a serious threat to the youth and the future of the nation, and eliminating this menace requires collective effort from every section of society.

They also appealed to the police to intensify their efforts and take strict action against drug peddlers involved in spreading this menace. The journalists demanded stricter laws, suggesting that those involved in drug trafficking should not be released before serving at least ten years of imprisonment.

The journalists reiterated their commitment to actively contribute to this mission and urged citizens to play their role in making Jammu & Kashmir and India a drug-free society.
