Strict curfew to be imposed in Srinagar parts: DC

Srinagar: Following the killings of militants in Tral, the district administration Srinagar on Saturday decided to impose strict curfew in parts of Srinagar falling under the jurisdiction of eight police stations from Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone told KNS, “The strict curfew will be imposed in the parts of Srinagar falling under the jurisdiction of eight Police Stations including Kralkhud, Khanyar, Rainawari, Safa kadal, Maharaj Gunj, Maisuma, Batamaloo and Nowhatta.”
He said that the strict curfew will be imposed as precautionary measures and would continue till further orders.
Pertinently, two militants and a civilian were killed in an encounter with government forces and subsequent clashes in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district today, officials said.
The killings triggered protests and shutdown across the valley.

According to the District Magistrate Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain Ganai, in view of the prevailing law and order situation and to avoid any damage to public and private properties, Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed within the territorial jurisdiction of Ganderbal district with immediate effect till further orders.

Section 144 of CrPC imposed in Budgam
According to the District Magistrate Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, in view of the prevailing law and order situation and to avoid any damage to public and private properties, Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed within the territorial jurisdiction of Budgam district with immediate effect till further orders.

Restrictions imposed in Anantnag
According to District Magistrate Anantnag strict restrictions would be in place in the territorial jurisdiction of the district tomorrow on 28 May 2017 to prevent breach of peace and loss of life in view of the prevailing law and order situation
