Poonch, Aug 4: A remarkable rescue operation was carried out by the District Police Poonch and the SDRF team after heavy rainfall caused the Betar Nallah Bridge in Panchayat Dhalan, District Poonch, to overflow with fast-moving floodwaters.

Several local residents and a number of livestock became trapped in the middle of the flooded nallah, creating a dangerous situation.

Responding immediately to the emergency, DSP Headquarters Neeraj SHO Tania Gupta, the SDRF team, and police personnel rushed to the spot and launched a well-coordinated rescue operation. Despite the strong current and challenging weather conditions, the rescue teams displayed exceptional courage and determination.

Risking their own lives, they successfully rescued all the stranded people and safely brought them to secure locations.

The team also made extraordinary efforts to save the livestock that had become trapped in the middle of the rushing waters. Their timely action prevented a major tragedy and ensured that both human lives and animals were rescued safely.

The successful operation has been widely appreciated by local residents, who praised the bravery, dedication, and professionalism of the District Police
