Srinagar, June 16 : Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCC&I)  on Thursday met Divisional Commissioner P K Pole and  raised concern of fuel shortage in the Valley.

“As the panic triggered by ‘rumors’ of fuel shortage has forced people to line up near petrol and diesel stations, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCC&I) President, Sheikh Ashiq and General Secretary Farooq Amin, raised concern of fuel shortage with Divisional Commissioner, PK Pole, who assured that there is no shortage of fuel in Kashmir,” KCC&I said in a statement issued here.

KCC&I’s spokesperson said that the Divisional Commissioner listened to concerns of the  delegation      patiently and said that there is no need to panic as people can go to retail outlets of Indian oil corporation limited and Bharat Petroleum Corporation limited and can refill fuel.

“He also said that by evening today, Hindustan Oil Corporation limited will also have sufficient stock of petrol and diesel and in future there will not be price rise in fuel,” the spokesperson said.

In a meeting, Divisional Commissioner assured and clarified that people are not going to face any problem regarding the availability of fuel. According to KCC&I spokesperson, he also advised people to purchase Petrol and Diesel as per need and don’t pay heed to rumors.
