Covid-19 claims another victim, toll 8; 20 fresh cases in J&K take over tally to 566

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported eighth death due to COVID-19 and 20 fresh cases of novel coronavirus.
Reports said that a septuagenarian woman from Rainawari Srinagar who tested positive only yesterday become latest victim of the dreaded disease.
Confirming the woman’s death, a senior doctor at CD Hospital Srinagar said that the woman was suffering from various ailments. “She was diabetic, hypertensive and had other comorbidities,” said Medical Superintendent CD hospital Dr Saleem Tak.
With the woman’s death, the number of fatalities due to the virus have gone up to 8—seven in Kashmir and one in Jammu.
Meanwhile, twenty more people tested positive of the coronavirus in Kashmir, taking the number of the Covid-19 patients in J&K to 566.
Reports quoting official sources said that among them, 10 were confirmed at Viral Diagnostic Lab of SKIMS Soura and include five from Baramulla, four from Shopian and one from Kupwara.
ten other cases were confirmed at the COVID-19 testing laboratory at Chest Disease hospital Dalgate and include eight from Anantnag district and two Pulwama.
As per the official data, there are now 566 cases in Jammu and Kashmir and 58 of them are in Jammu division.
