Kupwara: Clashes broke out between protesters and government forces in main town Kupwara following Friday prayers here.

According to eye witnesses as the people came out after offering Juma tul Vada prayers intense Pro Freedom sloganeering broke out.

Forces deployed in the area clashed with protesters and the situation had not changed when last reports came in.

“People in large number were marching on roads with massive sloganeering going on,” locals said.
