Two militants killed in Shopian orchards

Srinagar: Two militants have been killed in the brief shootout in Shopian orchards including an Mtech student turned militant, from Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.

Sources identified the slain militants as:
1. Rahil Rashid sheikh s/o Abdul Rashid sheikh r/o Nunar Ganderbal

2.Bilal Ah Bhat s/O Habibullah Bhat r/o Keegom Shopian.

They claimed that the slain were associated with Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.

Rahil, sources said was a student of M.Tech and had joined militant ranks recently.

According to sources family of Rahil had approached Ganderbal police yesterday i.e on April 5.

According to sources there was no official communication from Shopian police to Ganderbal police about the Ganderbal militant being killed in Shopian.

“He went missing few days back and his family approached us yesterday only,” a top cop in the Ganderbal district told INS.
