Srinagar: Forces in large number have been deployed in sensitive Zadibal area of Srinagar to thwart the protests over the rape of a minor in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district few day ago.
Zadibal area is Shia dominated area.
The residents of Zadibal area on Tuesday morning staged a protest and blocked the road.
Following the protest, police and paramilitary troopers were deployed in large number in the interiors of Zadibal and adjoining areas to thwart more protests.
Protesters were demanding exemplary punishment for the guilty.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Itehaadul Muslimeen has stated that the protest against Bandipora incident will continue till justice is delivered to the victim.
Over 55 persons including 47 cops have been injured and several vehicles were also damaged during the protests that engulfed Kashmir on Monday over the minor’s rape.
