Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Sunday condemned the thrashing of two boys by 32 RR at Laiser, Rafiabad, Baramulla and damaging the car, in which both of them were travelling only because they had not cast their vote on April 11 when polling was held for Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency.
The lawyers’ body termed it barbaric and inhuman even as it demanded that the FIR registered by the police in this behalf should be investigated with “promptitude and the culprits be brought to book at the earliest.”
It also strongly condemns the use of bullets and pellets by the government forces against the civilians at Gahind Shopian on Saturday in which, according to the Health Officials around twenty persons were injured. Four of them had critical injuries and had to be referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar, for specialized treatment.
The Bar Association also requested the International Human Rights Originations to take notice of the “brutalities” being perpetrated by the Indian forces in Kashmir and play their role effectively in stopping the “grave human rights violations in Kashmir and save the people of Kashmir from the reign of terror let loose by the Indian forces in Kashmir.”
