“JeI is an idea and you cannot stop it by banning it. In a democratic set up you must engage with ideas, a better one,” Mufti said.
She said that rather than banning RSS which has Shakhas all over India and are openly brandishing swords and killing people in the name of Meat ‘government of India is banning JeI who is working in educational sector’.
“JeI is a social organisation and is helping to uplift the downtrodden people by giving them education and helping them in other sectors as well,” she said, adding that the PDP condemns any such moves.
She said that PDP had joined hands with BJP when they were in power and said that it was her party that thwarted all such moves by BJP.
“For two years we stopped them for doing such things,” she said while condemning NIA raids at the residence of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of Hurriyat conference.
“He is our religious leader and we condemn such attacks,” she said.
