Srinagar, Jun 29: A man was killed while another sustained injuries in a road accident that took place during the midnight hours near Shalteng area of Srinagar, officials said on Sunday.

An official said that a accident occurred at around 12:40 AM when an auto vehicle was hit by another vehicle near Shalteng Srinagar.

He said the duo were rushed to hospital, but later one among them succumbed to his injuries this morning.

The deceased was identified as Ajaz Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, a resident of Shah Gund, Bandipora, while the injured person was identified as Mohammad Ashraf Malla, son of Abdul Salam Malla, also from Shah Gund, Bandipora.

The injured is undergoing treatment at hospital and his condition is stated to be stable.

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation in this regard. (KNO)
