Kupwara: More than  90 passenger along with a  body of women is stuck along the snow filled roads at hills of at Sadhna Top in northern Kashmirs kupwara district since Friday night.
Officials confirmed to INS that the passengers are stuck on the road including men women and children.
“It’s a difficult situation as snow fall is continuous and that is hampering any operation on the road,” an official wishing anonymity said.
Locals however blamed authorities of callous approach as there was no effort of ground staff for road clearance as it was already known that there  are passenger vehicles are on the road.
Officials however asked people to keep patience as they have already geared their men and machinery to be at work as soon they are asked to move.
“They should understand that they are facing natures fury at the Sadhna top with no food and water.  There are children  as well. They won’t have anything to save themselves from the freezing cold,” a relative of one of the stranded passenger said,  adding that the district administration wasted a day.
Along the stranded passengers is a body of a lady who died on the road as well.
“Once the snowfall stops the operation to vacate the standard passengers at Sadhna will start until that nothing can be done as it’s snowing heavily,” DC kupwara Khalid Jahangir said.
“Men and machinery are on job and I am personally monitoring  the situation, ” he said.
