Bemina tragic incident: Altaf Bukhari demands airlifting bodies to Tangdhar

Srinagar: Expressing deep shock and grief over the death of five members of a Tangdhar family, former Finance Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has urged the Governor-led administration to ensure immediate airlifting of their bodies to their native place for last rites.
In his condolence message, Bukhari has condoled the demise of five Tangdhar residents including two children aged 8 and 5 years who were found dead due to asphyxiation at their temporary residence in Bemina Srinagar on Saturday morning.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family who lost their dear ones including two kids tragically. I appeal the Governor led administration to extend all possible help besides airlifting their bodies for last rites at Tangdhar,” Bukhari who is outside the state said in his message.
He also demanded immediate disbursement of ex-gratia relief for the bereaved family.
The former finance minister also appealed the people of Kashmir valley to use the gas or other heating gadgets cautiously and ensure there is no damage to their life or property while bracing up the winter vagaries.
“The administration must also issue advisories in this regard and convene frequent awareness campaigns using different means of communication,” Bukhari remarked.
The former minister also urged the administration to ensure disruption free electricity, drinking water supply and availability of fuel and ration especially in remote parts of the Valley.
Two minors were among five members of the family found dead inside their rented accommodation at Mansoor colony Bemina here .
The deceased include Khurshid Ahmad sheikh (45) son of Abdul Rashid, Reshma Jan wife of Abdul Rashid, Gulshan Jaan wife of Khurshid Ahmad, Faizan Ahmad Sheikh (8), Furqan Ahmad Sheikh (5), all residents of Batpora Tanghdar Kupwara.
