Teachers need to be properly trained: DSEK

Srinagar: To nurture the real potential of students to achieve excellence, the teachers need to be properly trained, Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo said as he kick started Enrolment week in schools.
Highlighting the need of increasing the enrolment of students in schools, Itoo said that the students of state are very bright in various fields and have in-built capabilities but the only thing they require was to nurture their capabilities and make every effort to increase the literacy rate of the State and make the vision of making the State successful in Education sector a reality.
Itoo, who Chief Guest in the Divisional Level function of National Education Day organized by Directorate of School Education Kashmir in collaboration with Navkriti Foundation, New Delhi in Zone Rainawari, said that for making this possible, there was need to mobilize the teachers, provide them training as per the latest trends and practises and follow the path of the First Education Minister of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
In his speech, President Navkriti Foundation, New Delhi Rajeev Kumar said that as promised on the day “we adopted Government BMS Kathidarwaza and we will set a computer lab and provide sports kits, on the occasion of National Education Day.”
“ In the current world, computer education is must. We cannot ignore importance of computer education. Also if sports education is carried out accompanied with the academic curriculum, the overall personality of the student is developed to quite an extent. The qualities of the leadership, sharing, team spirit and tolerance are learnt from sports.”
On this idea NAVKRITI FOUNDATION want children to be sound both in education and sports so that they help in building strong nation, he said.
Earlier DSEK inaugurated the computers provided by Navkriti Foundation to BMS Kathidarwaza in presence of President Navkriti Foundation Rajeev Kumar, General Secretary Asif Nabi Khan, CEO Srinagar, ZEO Rainawari and other officers of the Department. The students of the school presented a welcome song on the occasion. It is pertinent to mention here that BMS Kathidarwaza was adopted by Navkriti Foundation and the students of the school were assured of many Education facilities by the Foundation. On this occasion, the school was also presented with sports kids for the students.
Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Mudasir Kaleem Fazili formally welcomed the guests at the start of the event and Zonal Education Officer Rainawari Shaista Masrat thanked all the guests at the end of the event.
