Jammu: A 29-year-old soldier was killed in alleged ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Nowshara sector of Rajouri even as army threatened that his killing “will not go in vain.”
“Pakistan Army resorted to an unprovoked ceasefire violation in Naoshera Sector on the Line of Control (LoC) at about 1445 hours and in the incident, Naik Gosavi Keshav Somgir, an army soldier, was critically injured and succumbed to gunshot wound injuries,” a defence ministry spokesman said here.
The soldier belonged to Sri Rampur village of district Nashik, Maharashtra and is survived by his wife, the spokesman said.
Indian Army has retaliated strongly and effectively on Pakistan Army posts, the spokesman said and added that his killing “will not go in vain.”
