Kupwara: A police constable of District Special Branch  wing was hospitalised after he was severely thrashed during overnight protesters at batergam in district kupwara.
“District Special Branch official who was discharging his duties during recovering the body of missing boy from gushi was thrashed by some youth present there,” Officials in police department said.
He was identified as, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Constable, presently in DSB wing  posted in kupwara, as beat in-charge, Gulgam, Batergam and Awoora.
He was thrashed and kept confined within a house by angry mob.
The official was somehow saved by Assistant Superintendent of police kupwara and other officials.
“During the scuffle official was injured, FIR has been lodged, After proper identification of Person behind the act, arrests will follow”, SSP Kupwara Shriram Aberkar Dinkar said.
