Kupwara: Half burnt and left arm cut body of a boy who had gone missing four days back was found on Thursday evening here. Family of the boy have identified him.

A boy, Umer Farooq 10, from gulgam who had gone missing four days ago was found dead in mysterious conditions at gushi in district kupwara on Thursday evening.

A close relative of the missing boy said that, we have identified our kin as his clothes were also located at the scene.

His face and body structure also resembles the same that of our kin Umer farooq.

Farooq Ahmad father of missing boy identified his son.

The body of boy was spotted by some locals in the fields on Thursday evening, Following which they informed the police.

“Body was recovered from spot in mysterious conditions and was taken to District Hospital kupwara for legal medical formalities,” Police official said.

“The body was half brunt and had an amputated left arm, Body couldn’t be recognized immediately,” DYSP HQ Yasser parrey said.

Parray said that only after proper procedure of assertaining identification it will be revealed that the body found is gulgam missing boy.

Earlier in the day family members, Relatives and locals had staged protest demonstration by blocking, Kupwara-Kralpora road for hours demanding whereabouts of their missing kin umer farooq.

Sniffer dogs were also put to use.

Local sources said that, Soon after the news of dead body spread in the area scores of people came out on the roads to protest against the death.

SIT constituted:
“This pertains to the missing report lodged in Kupwara about a minor boy Umar Farooq of Gulgam. The effort to trace this boy of our community/police since the day of his missing was on,” police said.
They said that With the recovery of the dead body Police has constituted a SIT to be headed by the ASP Kupwara and supervised by the District SSP Kupwara to investigate it. Police has also sought cooperation of general public for completion of investigation.

Umer had gone missing since monday evening, missing report was already lodged in this regard.
District authorities have ordered closure of twin education institutions to thwart any law and order problem.
