Mendhar: In the backdrop of complaints received from different quarters regarding spurious drugs being sold in the town, a team comprising of Assistant Drug Controller Poonch, Tehsildar mendhar and Drug inspectors on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today carried out surprised inspection of as many as 18 medical shops in the town and collected 20 samples of various medicines for lab testing and analysis.

The team also closed seven medical store for one day supply whereas it also served notice to another for keeping expired stock of medicines.

The Deputy Commissioner while sharing details said the samples collected shall be sent for lab testing to ascertain the quality of drugs and appropriate action under rules shall be initiated in case of defaulters. He said more such inspections shall be conducted in the district and sub-divisional level to keep a check on the quality of drugs being made available to the patients
