Pulwama, Feb 24: The State Investigation Agency on Tuesday conducted a search operation at the Shirmal Zainapora area of Pulwama district in connection with a case registered in 2023.

Sources said that an SIA team raided the house of a slain militant identified as Jazim Farooq Wani in connection with FIR No. 14/2023 registered at Police Station Litter Pulwama. The case pertains to offences under sections 302 and 120 of the IPC, 7/27 of the Arms Act, and sections 16, 20, 23 and 38 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Sources said the search was carried out as part of the ongoing investigation into the case. During the operation, relevant materials and documents were reportedly examined by the investigating agency.

Officials maintained that the action was taken in furtherance of the probe linked to the 2023 case and that further investigation is underway.

No immediate arrests were reported at the time of filing this report. (KNT)
