The Chief Minister has directed the district administration to conduct a probe to know the reasons of the killing and come up with a report at the earliest, an official spokesman said.

Accordingly, the Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Talat Parvez has appointed Additional District Development Commissioner, Kulgam as the inquiry officer to ascertain the facts about the death of the youth—Khalid Ahmad Dar of Redwani Payeen. He has been asked to submit a report with two weeks, the spokesman added.

Meanwhile, police said two civilians sustained bullet injuries when a mob pelted stones on the army camp located at Kudwani. “Reportedly some unidentified militants from the mob also fired some shots towards the army camp,” a police spokesman said.

In the incident, he said, one civilian namely Khalid Ahmed Dar (22) who received a bullet injury on his neck succumbed at District Hospital Anantnag. “The other one namely Yasir Ahmed Dar (30) of Khudwani with shoulder injury is stated to be stable. In this connection case FIR no 5/2018 has been registered at P/S Kulgam and investigation has been set into motion.”

Pertinently, the spokesman said, the militant killed at Larnoo in the encounter with joint team of police and army was from Khadwani area as well.

“Separately a road accident took place at vessu where a BSF vehicle hit a civilian who was also from the same area. The BSF driver and vehicle have been taken into custody with the help of BSF officials. Police is investigating all the three cases”.
