Pampore (Pulwama): 18-year-old footballer Aneek Amin, from south Kashmir’s Pampore has become the first player from Pulwama district to get selected for Indian Football League (IFL). Aneek had performed well at local level.
Coming from a poor family of Frestbal in Pampore, Aneek’s father is physically challenged after having met with an accident last year. Since then, the boy works as a labourer to financially assist his family.
Aneek said he used to regularly watch football matches in nearby stadiums with his father since childhood and developed interest in the game. “Being passionate about the sport, I learned quickly and excelled in the game,’ he said.
“My hard work and good performance at local grounds for years yielded results and I was selected in the football academy of Mehraj Ud Din Wadoo. I learned a lot there,” he added.
Now, Aneek is an emerging football player of not only Pampore but the whole Pulwama.
Continuing with his brilliant performances at the academy, Aneek finally made it to the Indian Football League which is going to be held soon.
“It is a great feeling. I would love to play good games at IFL and make my Kashmir proud,” the elated Aneek told INS. “This is a dream come true for me.”
Meanwhile, locals have congratulated Aneek for his success.
“We are much delighted to hear about the selection of our brother in Indian Football League. He has worked hard and deserves more success in future,” Aneek’s friends told INS.
