Except Kupwara, voting percentage remains in single digit in Kashmir

Srinagar: The polling percentage remained in single digit in all but Kupwara district in Kashmir Valley in the first four hours of the voting in phase-I of the elections to Urban Local Bodies on Monday.
In all, 58 wards spanning over six districts are voting in Phase-I of the civil polls in Kashmir Valley.
According to officials, 16 wards in Bandipora recorded lowest polling percentage of 2% till 11.a.m followed by 3% each in Baramulla (15 wards) and Budgam (1 ward), 3.5% in Srinagar (3 wards) and 5% in Anantnag (4 wards). Kupwara district where 18 wards are voting saw the highest turnout of 18% in the first four hours of polling, they said.
Regarding Jammu and Kargil, the official said that Rajouri saw the highest 55%, Poonch 47%, Jammu 34%, Kargil 33% and Leh 26% voting.
