Tral shuts on third consecutive day against militant killings

Tral: A complete shutdown was observed on third consecutive day on Wednesday in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the killing of three JeM militants in Lethpora encounter that ended on Monday.
Three militants of JeM including two locals namely Fardeen Khanday of Nazneenpora Hayuna, Tral and Manzoor Ahmad Baba of Drobgam, Pulwama were killed after they mounted a fidayeen attack on CRPF training camp at Lethpoara in the district during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
Five CRPF personnel were also killed in the gunfight.
All shops and business establishments are closed in the area while public transport is off the roads.
People continue to visit the slain militant’s home at Nazneenpora, Tral to expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
As per reports, Tral has witnessed most number of strikes during past one year against civilian and militant killings besides the strike calls from separatist leaders.
