“Acting on a specific input about the movement of militants in Budgam Town, a joint Naka (checkpoint) was established by Budgam police, 53 RR and 43 Bn CRPF at Chadoora-Budgam road.
During the Naka checking, a suspicious vehicle was spotted and when it was signaled to stop, one of the militant tried to lob grenade but the alert personnel acted swiftly and apprehended him along with two other militants,” a police spokesman said.
They were identified as Mohammad Maqbol Malla and Gowher Ahmad both from Bandzoo and Azad Ahmad Lone from Lelhar, Kakapora of Pulwama district.
“One pistol, one SLR and three hand grenades were seized from their possession,” the spokesman added.
