Braid cutting: 3 thrashed by people in Sopore, 5 injured in forces action in Anantnag

Srinagar: In North Kashmir, three persons were beaten to pulp, in Sopore, last night after people accused them of being braid choppers, while five persons were injured in protests following a braid chopping attempt in Anantnag district on Wednesday.

In Sopore, three persons were caught hold of in khush haal matoo area of the town at around midnight.

Accusing them of being braid cutters they were thrashed to pulp.

According to police sources nabbed persons were burglars not braid cutters.

In South Kashmir, protests broke out in Wullerhama village of Salar area of Anantnag district after alleged braid chopping incident.

According to  reports residents chased an alleged braid chopper who was rescued by  army in Wullerhama village.

Forces used force to disperse protesters in which five people are reported to be injured and have been shifted to medical facility.
