Students protest in Sopore against ‘braid cutting incidents’

Sopore: Clashes erupted in Sopore town of north Kashmir between protesting students and police on Monday morning. Students were protesting over continuous braid cutting incidents.

Students blocked road at Iqbal Market disrupting vehicular movement, police used tear gas canister to disperse them.
Braid chopping incident took place at Ningli area of Sopore town when unknown persons entered  into a house of Mohammad Maqbool Dar.

Family of the victim told INS that ‘unknown person tried to attack her with spray.’Victim is 50 year old.
Police, when contacted, denied of being ‘aware about fresh braid chopping incident in town’

Meanwhile authorities on Monday morning restored Internet services in the north Kashmir which remained snapped since two days, as a precautionary measure, to maintain law and order after.

In Kupwara district of North Kashmir third incident of braid chopping took place on Sunday.

A resident of Dard Harie Kralpora, victim was identified as Shabnum Bano, daughter of, Mohammad  Yousaf Mir.

Victim is 16.
