Clashes erupt in Hawal area

Srinagar: Clashes erupted in Hawal area of Srinagar after students of ‘Islamia college’ took out a protest march on Monday against continuous braid chopping incidents.

Police resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse protesters leading to minor clashes in the area.

Braid cutting incidents have continued to spook off people, while in many localities, night vigil is being kept.

One more incident of braid cutting was reported from Sopore town of North Kashmir on Monday evening.
