Hajin Gunfight: Two Air force men part of operation killed
Srinagar: Two personnel of Air force who were part of cordon and search operation were killed at Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district early today..
“In the intense operation this morning in Hajin, Bandipur, two militants were killed. Two Air Force personnel (Garud wing) were martyred in the action”, army’s Srinagar based defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said.
The spokesman said that the Air force men were operating with the Army for operational experience and training.
Militants attacked the siege laying party by firing indiscriminately.
The gunfire was retaliated and two militants were killed.
The CASO was launched in one of the localities of Hajin at around 4:30 am.
Soon after the gunfight ended clashes erupted in the area and intense stone pelting was responded with tear gas shelling.
