Ganderbal: Dozens of laborers who extract sand from Nalla Sindh protested at Duderhama near Mini Secretariat in central Kashmirs Ganderbal district on Tuesday.

According to protesters the decision of leasing out sand extractions will leave them jobless, they demanded that government should take their livelihood in consideration before taking any such decision.

Protesters blocket Beehama-Safapora road at Duderhama, Ganderbal.

Officials of Police tried to persuade protesters but laborers demanded that district administration ‘should come and listen to us as our plea is falling to deaf ears despite running from pillar to post’.

Police swung into action, cane charging and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse protesters.
