Srinagar: Why ‘No Human Shield, ‘Chilli bombs, Pepper grenades, Pellet guns’ in Panchkula, former chief minister Jammu and Kashmir reacted over uncontrollable violence after Dera Sacha Sauda chief was found guilty of Rape on Friday.
Soon after the verdict of special CBI court was out, violence erupted which, till this report is being filed, has consumed 11 lives and more than 200 people are injured.
After the courts verdict on Ram Rahim Singh, Omar took to social networking website, twitter, and expressed as to why all those measures of crowd control being in vogue in the state of J&K are not being implemented there.
In series of tweets Omar asked why no one was used as a human shield in Panchkula.
“No Human Shield in Panchkula? Tried & tested crowd control technique much appreciated in many TV news studios not long ago,” tweeted Omar Abdullah.
Not only did Omar take a dig on the human shield issue, which created a furor in Valley after army used Farooq Ahmad Dar of central Kashmir’s Budgam district as human shield during parliamentary by polls.
Major Gogoi was awarded by the government for ‘innovative idea that saved many lives’.
As the violence escalated in Panchkula and police seemed to fail to control the crowd and supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim Singh, Omar asked as to why are they not using pellet guns.
“Chilli-bombs? Pepper grenades? Pellet guns? Do the forces keep those only for protesting Kashmiris,” tweeted Omar.
Former CM asked why “non-lethal crowd control, measures used extensively in Kashmir’ are not being implemented in Panchkula.
Meanwhile in the after math of the CBI special court verdict 11 people have died so far, property has been damaged, media organizations vehicles were damaged in the aftermath.
