3 CRPF men among 4 injured in Magam grenade blast

Srinagar: Three paramilitary CRPF personnel were among four persons were injured in a militant attack on joint patrol of the forces at Magam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Official sources said that the militants hurled a grenade at the patrol which exploded with a big bang, resulting in injuries to three CRPF and a police personnel. All of the injured were removed to the hospital, they said.
Soon after the attack, reinforcements of police and CRPF along with a large posse of Army were rushed to the spot. They joint team, they said, launched searches in the area to track down the attackers. However no arrests were made when this report was filed.
Meanwhile, reports said two militants of ‘Harkatul Mujahideen’ outfit was held in Handwara area of frontier Kupwara district.
Acting on a specific information about the movement militants, a joint team of Police, 21 Rashtrya Rifles and 92 batallion CRPF during arrested two persons identified later as Younis Ahmed Mir alias Sarfraz of Galwanpora and Tahir -ul-Islam alias Sajad Afgani of Maloora Shaltang here. The officials claimed that the duo owe allegianceto Harkatul Mujahideen.
