Tral shuts to mourn militant killings

Srinagar: A day after three Jaish militants were killed in an encounter that raged between the forces and militants in Satoora village of Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, a complete shutdown was Sunday observed in the area to mourn the death of three slain militants.
Police identified the two slain militants as Ishfaq Ahmad Khan of Hundura, (Tral) and Mukhtiyar Ah Lone of Harpura, Ameerabad (Tral) while the third militant has been identified as Hassan Bhai from Pakistan.
All the shops and other business establishments remained closed today while the traffic was also off the roads.
Meanwhile, amid complete shutdown, thousands of people, including women and children, participated in the funeral prayers of two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants in Tral and Pahoo areas of district Pulwama today.
Amid pro-freedom slogans, both the militants were laid to rest at their native villages.
Meanwhile, the mobile internet services continued to remain suspended as ‘precautionary measure’ in the district.
The services were suspended following the encounter in the area. (KNS)
