Srinagar: Syed Ali Geelani while commenting on china’s increasing interest in Kashmir issue said that Kashmir is becoming a flash point & it’s disputed nature is outspreading beyond limits. Geelani said that the delay in Kashmir resolution can lead to more dangerous complications & situation in the region is becoming more complex and explosive.
In a statement issued to KNS, Geelani said that China is emerging as a major alternate power against west and now stand established and since the borders of these countries are adjoining, hence China cannot remain neutral in the stressful situation between the two countries.
Geelani said that lingering Kashmir issue is proving a detrimental for the whole region and millions of people living in region are in a state of continuous anxiety, confusion and facing uncertain situations.
Three full-fledged wars between the two countries were fought, said Syed Ali Geelani and added that thousands were killed and properties worth billions shattered.
Because of the this Kashmir issue, both countries are making huge investment of their budget on their military expenses, while as majority of their population is living below the poverty line and are deprived of basic amenities, added Geelani.
Even though both countries have nuclear capability and now growing interest of China has turned the situation more complex.
Geelani said that present prevailing situation and emerging phenomenon demands immediate concern and consideration from both India and Pakistan and urged to think above rhetoric and take considerable and tangible steps for its lasting solution.
Since past seventy years our nation is suffering and facing appalling situations and our younger generation is losing their patience and are braving the extreme situations, said Geelani.
The situation is going out of control and new trends are emerging, said Geelani.
The growing interest of China can change the discourse and Kashmir issue can take a new turn, said Geelani and added that possibility of Jammu Kashmir becoming into a battle field can’t be ruled out.
Commenting over the volcanic situations emerging out of uncertainty in state, Geelani said a small flare can added strife to already charged situation.
This is a crucial time for both India and Pakistan and an opportunity for both to make a history while addressing the issue in its right perspective., said Geelani or history won’t forgive them for any negligence in this regard.
Meanwhile, Syed Ali Geelani has strongly condemned the reign of terrorism unleashed by forces in Islamabad, desecration of Jamia Masjid and detention of innocent youth. Attacking and desecration of holy places is unbearable, said Geelani and people will resent such heartless and mindless measures. Urging immediate probe into the gruesome incident, Geelani demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in this heinous act. People’s life and honor in state are in danger, and even the religious and holy places are insecure, said Geelani. (KNS)
