Gondola accident: Panel members visit Gulmarg

Gulmarg gondola: 7 killed, 1 injured after tree falls on Cable Car

SRINAGAR: The Committee headed by Mr. Dheeraj Gupta Commissioner Secretary Power Development Department today visited Gulmarg to look into the circumstances that led to tragic accident involving cable car on June 25, 2017 resulting in loss of seven precious lives.
The other members of the Committee include S K Zutshi Chief Engineer System and Operations Jammu and Vijay Raina Superintending Engineer (Mechanical) SKIMS Srinagar.
Secretary Tourism, Mr. M. H. Malik also accompanied the Committee members during their visit to Gulmarg. They interacted with the operational staff of the Cable Car and also visited the spot of the accident.
The Committee has been asked to submit its report to the Government within 15 days. The Committee shall also make recommendations regarding up-gradation of existing maintenance arrangements and additional safety measures required for the safe operation of cable car to prevent any such untoward incidents in the future
