Identification of four fidayeen militants being ascertained: DGP

Srinagar: Director General of Police (DGP). S P Vaid on Tuesday said that the identification of the four militants who were killed at Sumbal on Monday s being ascertained.
However, according to KNS correspondent, the DGP while talking to the reporters said that apparently the four militants look like non locals.
“The identification of the four militants is yet to be ascertained. We are currently ascertaining their identification,” he said.
DGP was accompanied by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director General, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar.
Bhatnagar interacted with 45 Battalion CRPF Sumbal, Cheetahs of 45 and 44th Battalion.
He also visited the Bandipora encounter site, where four militants were killed yesterday.
Four unidentified fidayeen militants were killed in Sumbal in the wee hours of Monday morning, police has said.
They said that four militants attempted to carry out a fidayeen attack on a CRPF camp in Sumbal in Bandipora. “A few militants fired on the CRPF camp and the alert security guard retailed the fire. Immediately, police and army rushed to the spot and a gun battle broke out in which four militants were killed,” Police has said.
