Ramzan arrangements reviewed in Jammu districts

JAMMU: Arrangements in connection with upcoming month of Ramadhaan were reviewed in Ramban, Doda, Jammu and Bhaderwah districts to facilitate the faithful during the holy month.
At Ramban, District Development Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz, today convened a meeting to discuss arrangements being put in place for Ramadhaan.
The DDC held threadbare discussions with the public deputations who apprised him of their demands related to water and power supply besides improving sanitation and strict check on quality and rates of essentials.
He directed the concerned departments to ensure that adequate arrangements are put in place to provide better amenities to the people during the month of Ramzan. He asked Municipal Committees Ramban, Banihal and Batote to intensify sanitation works and ensure cleanliness in and around the Mosques.
The DDC directed officers to work in synergy to carry out market checks and monitor quality of edibles like mutton and poultry besides keeping a strict vigil over rates of commodities. He asked the concerned officers of FCS&CA to ensure adequate supply of ration during Ramzan.
Mohammad Aijaz asked PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply especially during Sehri and Iftar besides directing PHE to ensure adequate supply of water so that people don’t face inconvenience on this account.
At Jammu, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rifat Kohli, convened a meeting to review arrangements for the holy month of Ramzan, here today.
During the meeting, the ADC impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure adequate arrangements so that people do not face any inconvenience during the month long fasting.
She directed JMC to ensure sanitation around all the mosques. She directed PHE to provide adequate supply of water in all the areas of Jammu, besides asking PDD to avoid unscheduled power cuts and ensure uninterrupted supply especially during Iftaar and Sehri.
The ADC asked the concerned department to intensify market checking so that the people would get quality edibles at reasonable rates.
At Doda, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Hanief Malik, convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held regarding power and water supply, sanitation, market checking, supply of essential commodities, traffic management and related services.
The ADC directed Municipality to speed up sanitation works and ensure cleanliness in and around the town besides asking FCS&CA department to ensure the availability of essential commodities like ration, gas, kerosene etc.
ADC asked the PHE Department to ensure adequate supply of water at mosques besides PDD was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply especially during Sehri and Iftar times.
At Bhaderwah, Sub Divisional Magistrate Dr. Owais Ahmed convened a meeting of officers and representatives of Anjuman Islamia, Beopar Mandal besides prominent citizens to review arrangements Ramzan.
The SDM had a detailed review of facilities being put in place by Different departments for convenience of the people. He asked all the departments to ensure facilities related to their respective departments are put in place in time to avoid any inconvenience to the people during the holy month.
