Srinagar: A high level team of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee led by President G.A. Mir today visited Dooru, Shahabad, Halsidar, Hangipora, Kapran( Dooru Assembly Constituency) to assess the losses caused to inhabitants due to incessant rains very recently.
Congress President was accompanied by MLC Vice President G.N. Monga, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Ali Mohd Mantoo and other senior leaders of the District Anantng.
The team met affected people and got to know the details of the damages, besides the problems confronting the sufferers due to the inundated rains and hailstorm and expressed serious concern over the losses.
On this occasion, Congress leaders were apprised of the overall situation obtaining in the backdrop of the damages caused to crops, orchards and residential houses in various other places in the Constituency also.
While expressing serious concern over the damages so caused due to incessant rains, G.A. Mir lashed out at State Govt for failing to reach out to affected. He emphasized that Govt must constitute a team of experts, on war footing basis, to make an assessment of the overall damages caused.
He also urged upon the Govt to ensure timely compensation to affected people, besides taking immediate measures to rehabilitate fully those families, who have suffered hundred percent losses. (KNS)
