Srinagar: In wake of the call to students’ community for protest by Joint Resistance Leadership, district administration on Wednesdayannounced that class work in all schools and colleges will remain closed on Thursday “as a precautionary measure.”
“The class work in schools and colleges across the Kashmir Valley shall remain suspended on Thursday,” Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Khan told INS. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure, he added.
The JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik said people will continue to raise their voice against the shameful assault on women and will peacefully protest against it on Friday.
“The students of colleges, and universities across Kashmir will stage peaceful protests against the  attack on the chastity of their sisters and mothers on Thursday,” they said.
