Srinagar: One militant of Hizb ul Mujahideen has been killed  in an ongoing gunfight between militants and forces in Shopian district of southern Kashmir on Monday, sources said.

According to sources the encounter ensued after government forces launched CASO in  Gattipora village in Keller on specific input about the presence of militants in the area.

“Forces were fired upon by the hiding militants,” sources said.

Unconfirmed reports  identified  the killed militant as Zahid alias Ubaid.

 

“There could more militants in the area. Operation is going on,” sources said.
