Shopian: Shopian locality is reeling under darkness as authorities have not repaired the transformer that had developed technical snag a month back leaving people to face difficulties in shivering cold conditions prevailing in the valley. 

Residents of New colony Kralchek area of Keller in Shopian told INS that 63 KV transformer was damaged and was taken to Shopian for repairing however authorities are turning blind eye towards ‘peoples miseries’.

Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of Kralchek told INS that village has 55 households and the transformer is 63KV which falls short according to need as the result it got damaged of overload.

They Requested PDD Shopian to upgrade the 63kv transfomer to 100 kv.

When INS contacted DC Shopian Owais Ahmad he said that the people should meet him at his office.

“I will look into the issue” he said.
