Watlar protest non-availability of ambulance driver after accident

Srinagar: Residents of Watlar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district staged protest outside a hospital on Sunday against non-availability of ambulance driver in the hospital.
Scores of people took to streets and blocked Manigam Baroosa byepass at Watlar highway, demanding action against the ambulance driver.
The protests followed after a person namely Nazir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Watlar was injured in the road accident and locals immediately took him to nearby hospital for treatment, where doctors referred him to Srinagar. However ambulance driver was not on duty at the hospital, the protesters said.
They appealed higher authorities of health department to take action against the absent driver. Later police party headed by SHO Lar Lateef Ali, Tehsildar Lar and CMO Ganderbal Dr.Roshan Din Kasana reached the spot and assured protesters action against the driver.
