The rally against killing of five militants and five civilians was led by  M.yaseen khan, Manzoor bhat, and other traders.

Police swung into action and thwarted their move to march on city center lal chowk and some of the traders were detained by police.

Pertinently KTMF had extended full support to the people’s agitation led by the Hurriyat, and said that it was willing to sacrifice the business but that atrocities, which have evolved into worst ever humanitarian crises unleashed by the government forces was intolerable.

The business fraternity said Kashmir was a dispute and needs to be resolved for sustainable peace in the subcontinent.

Khan, who also heads the Kashmir Economic Alliance, said on Sunday,  what is more pinching that instead of feeling guilty of the atrocities the PDP-led government has pampered the trigger-friendly forces.

Referring to the recent bloodbath in Shopian, Khan said there was visible design in the pattern of killings. “This is an attempt to scare the people but let the government understand that we are a resilient nation,” Khan in a statement said.
