Weatherman predicts light rain, snow likely over higher reaches

Srinagar, Oct 8: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain at scattered places from October 8 to 10, while light snowfall is expected over higher reaches.

Director Meteorological Centre Srinagar Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said, the weather is expected to remain generally dry on October 9, with a brief spell of light rain possible at a few places towards the evening.

From October 11 to 13, generally dry weather is expected, with a brief spell of rain likely towards the evening/night of October 13.

On October 14 and 15, generally cloudy weather with light rain and light snowfall over higher reaches is expected at many places, along with the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds.

The weather is likely to remain generally dry from October 16 to 18, the forecast said.

The MeT Centre has advised people to continue harvesting and ensure safe storage of harvested apples and paddy in view of the expected weather conditions.
