Army Chief reviews security situation in Manipur, operational preparedness of formations

New Delhi, July 28: Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth on Tuesday reviewed the security situation in Manipur during his visit to the Spear Corps and assessed the operational preparedness of the Inspector General Assam Rifles (IGAR) South, IGAR East and the Red Shield Division.

During the visit, the Army Chief was briefed on the prevailing security scenario and the operational readiness of the formations deployed in the region. He also reviewed the Assam Rifles’ nation-building initiatives aimed at fostering peace, stability and development in Manipur.

Interacting with troops, General Seth commended their professionalism and dedication in maintaining security under challenging conditions. He urged all ranks to remain vigilant, operationally agile and future-ready to effectively respond to evolving security challenges while ensuring enduring peace and stability in the region.

The visit underscored the Army’s continued focus on maintaining a high level of operational preparedness and supporting efforts to strengthen peace and development in the Northeast.
