The plantation programme was held in the presence of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo, besides other senior police officers and officials.

The initiative was aimed at promoting environmental protection, enhancing green cover and creating awareness about the importance of preserving natural resources among police personnel as well as the general public.

Speaking on the occasion, officials stressed the need for collective action to address environmental challenges and underscored the role of afforestation in maintaining ecological balance.

They urged citizens to actively participate in plantation and conservation activities to help build a greener and healthier future.

The tree plantation campaign forms part of the ongoing efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to contribute towards environmental sustainability and encourage eco-friendly practices across the Union Territory.

The event also served as a reminder of the shared responsibility of safeguarding the environment for future generations.
