The Lieutenant Governor arrived at Qamaria Ground, Ganderbal, where he was accorded a warm welcome by senior civil and police officials, public representatives, youth groups, students, and members of various social organizations before leading the anti-drug march.

The padyatra witnessed overwhelming participation from people belonging to different walks of life, reflecting a collective resolve to combat substance abuse and build a drug-free society. Participants marched through designated routes carrying placards and raising awareness about the harmful effects of narcotics.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the need for community participation in eradicating the drug menace and urged citizens, particularly the youth, to stay away from narcotics and contribute towards a healthier and stronger society.

The event forms part of the ongoing efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir administration to intensify awareness campaigns and mobilize public support under the anti-drug initiative. The large turnout was seen as a strong endorsement of the government’s mission to eliminate drug abuse from society.

Amid tight security arrangements, the Lieutenant Governor also interacted with participants and appreciated their enthusiastic response to the campaign. The march concluded with a renewed pledge by participants to work collectively against drug addiction and spread awareness at the grassroots level.
