Bandipora, May 08: Bodies of three youth were recovered after they drowned into the river Jhelum in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora on Friday, officials said.

An official said that the incident took place in the Check Chandergeer area when the three youths were washing tent material on the banks of the river.

He said local residents and volunteers immediately launched rescue operation after the incident. Two bodies were retrieved during the initial operation, while the third body was recovered later.

They have identified as Adil Ahmad Dar (18) son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, Sameer Ahmad Dar (22) son of Mohammad Jamal Dar and Sohail Ahmad Dar (22) son of Ghulam Nabi Dar–all residents of Chandergeer, Hajin.

The official said the bodies were later shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-lega formalities. (KNO)
